David and Sherrie Velarde are the Lead Pastors and founders of Legacy Church. Founded in 2020, the vision came from an urgency in their hearts to see Kingdom Impact in the city of Las Vegas In July of 2019 David’s father passed away. It was in that moment the resounding words of his father would come to fruition. “There is a church in you.” David would run with that prophesy and launch Legacy Church. It was through 20 years of preparation in varying roles of ministry and their personal journey following God’s plan and direction for their lives, the vision and mission of Legacy Church came to pass. Simply put, their desire in ministry is to “see people succeed in every arena of life.” Their passion to see others realize success is evident in their extraordinary efforts through pastorship, mentorship, leadership, and as a spiritual covering to all those who would call Legacy Church their home. David has faithfully served the local church since 2000, in various capacities some of which include: Campus pastor, Children’s Ministry, Ushers and Praise and Worship where he served as the worship director for over 8 years. Sherrie has an Associate of Arts degree in General Bible with a minor in P&W from World Harvest Bible College and Bachelors of Arts in Biblical Study from Midwest College of Theology. She has served in ministry since 1995 in areas such as Campus pastor, Praise and Worship director, Youth Pastor, and executive leadership roles in church operations. David and Sherrie are under the covering of Redemption Fellowship. Pastors David and Sherrie reside in the southwest of Las Vegas and have 3 children: Leiyah Renee, Brayden Tyler and Cailey Cheree.
